summer 2011 in pictures

We're back! It's been almost 3 months since we've updated this blog and our excuse is, again, that life has been busy. In April, I was promoted at work and with that came a switch from 20 hours a week to full-time.  In late June, we moved out of my parents house into an apartment in East Syracuse. Scott and I have each celebrated a birthday and our anniversary! There's been lots and lots going on and I think the best way to "catch up" is with pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. Enjoy this photo journal of what our summer looked like:

Scott and Alexander starting the work on our soon-to-be totally awesome garden at my parents house in LaFayette

The boys taking in the sights and sounds of the Cazenovia Memorial Day parade that we enjoyed with the Merithews and Bluewolfs

Have you ever seen a boy more excited to be sitting on a fire truck? Haha!

YOU'RE NUMBER 1, PAPA!!

Ho hum. Just waiting for the race to start...

pictures and a poll

I've successfully gotten my child addicted to television. Does it help the critics out there to know that he only watches PBS and that Super Why (a VERY educational show!) is his favorite?!

Ah...I think this is beautiful...

Doing a little digging in the rocks. He REALLY loves to dig. And I REALLY love that he's not afraid of getting dirty!

This child is so vain that he even poses in his sleep!

A nice visit with cousins David & Samantha and their super cute kids Joseph & Charlotte!

riding the tractor at David & Sam's. Not a clear picture, I know, but he loved it!

What better way to end the string of pictures than with a picture of Scott and Max on our way to Brandi & Dakota's wedding in May?

P.S. - a poll question. If your child went through the "terrible twos," when did it start, how long did it last and do you have any tricks of survival to pass along? This kid is so great and we love him so much AND he's starting to throw little mini fits when he gets frustrated. They pass quickly, which is great, but I would love to know if anyone has had success with calming and/or reasoning with a toddler. (Ha! Sounds pretty silly when I read it out loud.)
